On Monday, September 1, at 16:00 GMT, the BELLA II project—led by RedCLARA and co-funded by the European Union—together with LACNet, will hold the virtual launch of the Blockchain Testbed. This secure, regulated, and accessible infrastructure will enable universities, research centers, startups, and National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) across Latin America and the Caribbean to test, validate, scale, and deploy innovative solutions under real-world conditions, with controlled costs and specialized technical support.
The event is open and free for all those interested in exploring the potential of blockchain as a driver of innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The BELLA II Blockchain Testbed is a special online lab in the region that removes risks and costs of transactions, allowing people to try out and speed up important projects in areas like education, research, digital identity, and traceability.
During the webinar, experts will explain what this infrastructure is, how it works, why it is essential for risk-free digital innovation, and how to access it with the support of an expert community. In addition, success stories will be presented, showcasing the value of this tool for regional development.
This new testbed is part of the experimental environments promoted by BELLA II, with the goal of strengthening the region’s digital infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies that drive transformative solutions. The Blockchain Testbed is backed by LACNet, the public-permissioned network with experience in over 21 countries, more than 85 participating entities, and more than 100 use cases underway.
BELLA II is transforming the region. In its new phase, it will include more countries, paving the way toward a more sustainable and collaborative digital future for Latin America and the Caribbean.
