Following the call launched in March 2025, the SPIDER project held the SPIDER Demo-Day for EU–LAC Digital Innovators. This virtual event marked the conclusion of the Call for Ideas process to promote the strategic use of advanced connectivity between Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
(Source: Spider) The Call for Ideas was organized by SPIDER in partnership with RedCLARA and the BELLA II project to identify and support early-stage digital solutions based on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and shared digital resources, leveraging the BELLA connectivity infrastructure.
As part of the process, the selected teams participated in training, mentoring, and technical pitch reviews, designed to strengthen the conceptual clarity, feasibility, and strategic focus of their proposals. The cycle concluded with a Demo-Day organized by SPIDER, during which innovators presented their final pitches to the SPIDER community and stakeholders from the EU–LAC digital ecosystem.
The solutions presented covered areas such as EdTech, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and green technologies, with projects originating in Colombia, Spain, Chile, Guatemala, and El Salvador, reflecting the bi-regional scope of the call and the diversity of approaches. The innovators pitching at the event were:
-
Valía Person (Colombia, EdTech)
-
