Dialogue on Blockchain at “48 Hours for Life—Honey and Code”

Dialogue on Blockchain at “48 Hours for Life—Honey and Code”

RedCLARA will participate in the international event “48 Hours for Life – Honey and Code,” which will take place on May 17 and 18, in celebration of World Bee Day. This collaborative marathon will bring together participants from various disciplines to create content, proposals, and ideas aimed at protecting pollinators, ensuring biodiversity traceability, and strategically using emerging technologies.

Representing RedCLARA, Carlos González, Services Manager, will deliver a presentation on blockchain and the opportunities this technology offers in the context of the BELLA II program. His contribution seeks to strengthen the regional dialogue on digital innovation and highlight the importance of the technological alliances promoted by RedCLARA—such as LACNet and LACChain—which are currently leading significant advancements in digital infrastructure and trust in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The event is organized by the UxTIC Academic Network, in collaboration with the Ibero-American Blockchain and Cybersecurity Network (RIBCI), the Ibero-American Program for Science and Technology for Development (CYTED), and other international partners. It will be held with the support of regional and global organizations committed to the harmonious development of Ibero-America.

In this sixth edition, the central theme will be the Colmena DAO initiative—a proposal for a decentralized organization aimed at consolidating an interdisciplinary community with the capacity for collective action around beekeeping sustainability, ecosystem protection, and the use of technological tools such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and satellite monitoring.

During the 48 hours of collaborative work, participants will contribute to the development of a collective digital publication while also defining the first steps in governance, organization, and participation mechanisms for Colmena DAO. Those interested may join in various collaboration formats, will receive a digital certificate for their participation, and are expected to receive a blockchain-verifiable token as proof of their contribution.

The event represents an opportunity to connect knowledge, innovation, and technology with environmental and productive impact. RedCLARA reaffirms its commitment to promoting technological solutions in service of sustainable development and to building knowledge networks that respond to the region’s challenges.
